Bad Fuel Filter

An engine is becoming consistently more erratic, and the engine power is reducing. At time he engine shuts down. It seems that the engine isn't getting enough fuel. What would be a quick component to check with these symptoms?

 Solution:
The quickest component to check with theses symptoms is the fuel filter. Over a period of time, the fuel filter in the main fuel line to the carburetor or fuel injectors may become plugged with dirt from the fuel tank. Replaced the fuel filter, and the problem will probably be eliminated.
